Garbage Heap in Pasar Minggu TPS Cleaned

Garbage heap in temporary garbage disposal (TPS) on Jl. Buntu Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, was finally cleaned by City Living Environment Department personnel, Sunday (1/29). It was cleaned by using 2 heavy equipment of shovel type and 25 garbage trucks.

Yesterday, Saturday (1/28), was reported that around 10 AM the garbage heap is nearly two meters tall. In the evening at 6 PM it reached four until five meters tall.

City Living Environment Department head, Isnawa Adji, said that garbage in Pasar Minggu TPS, if late being transported, it will mount fast because it is located around terminal, market, UKM coaching location (lokbin) and as a central garbage disposal from six urban villages in Pasar Minggu.

"We clean the garbage in Pasar Minggu TPS on Sunday morning. There are two shovel and 25 trucks to transport it," he said.

According to him, total volume of transported garbage was about 15 tons. All of it has been transported to Bantar Gebang TPST, Bekasi, West Java. His side will pick the trash up routine to prevent it becomes a huge heap.

Adji expected that the garbage heap last Saturday was because of the volume is more that usual. At the same time, there was Chinese New Year Celebration which causing the garbage volume increasing. Moreover, it was getting worst because rain also pouring from morning until night.
